“Day 3 of lockdown in Ghana and I woke up thinking of an exciting project we’ve been working on and definitely one we can’t wait to get back to.
We can’t wait to get back to the School for the Blind in Akropong where we’re training a group of motivated women on how to make jewelry.
The beauty of it is whatever piece they make is unique because they can’t see the beads they pick so each combination is different. They make the pieces based on their own imagination and creativity; they pick the number of beads needed for the bracelet they’re working on and they pick based on the feel of the beads. It’s their own creation and each piece is one of a kind!
