There have been so much banter among entertainers in Ghana both in the movie and music industry in recent times. Surprisingly, the known originator of beefs in Ghana has been silent while the others are going at each other. I am referring to Shatta Wale here. We’ve not heard him going at anyone during this whole time Ghana has been on lockdown amid the covid-19 crises.
There current beef is about who the originater of azonto in Ghana is. This had musicians like Sarkodie, Reggie Rockstone, Bisa Kdei, Guru, and many more laying claims on their role played for the popularity of azonto dance.
We are barely moving on from the beef of last week, where Sista Afia and Eno Barony were throwing jabs on twitter on who the best female rapper is in Ghana after both of them released a rap this song. Let’s not also forget about the comedians beef with Funny Face and the Lilwin. There was also Politician and pastor beef ie. Obinim and Kennedy Agyapong. There’s never a boring day in Ghana. Yesterdays beef was vice president Bawumia and Ex-President Mahama.
Afro-soul music singer had a question and answer session on twitter today #TimewithEfya, where a fan asked her why female artist cannot support each other. Efya did not believe that was the case but rather the work of the media and public to make it seem so.
She believes the public does this to create “controversy” for entertainment purposes only. According to her, everyone she has encountered has been “receptive”. We do I agree with her media always spinning things to create buzz.
Another fan also ask her who she thinks will take over from her as in a young version of Efya.
She didn’t respond to the question directly but she believes at the moment “there are many Female artists out there creating their own brand and music”.
Efya continued to say it’s beautiful to see that they have aspired so many female artist that are coming in the scene.
