Founder of GUBA Enterprise, Dentaa Amoateng, has been nominated on a ten member committee who would see to the campaign for the Beyond the Return project organised by the Tourism Ministry. The representatives who are from ten institutions constitute the Steering Committee and would ensure the successful execution of the campaign.
Already, Dentaa is a Board member of the Ghana Tourism Authority whose expertise will come to bear on the project.
‘Beyond the Return’ is a follow-up to the successful ‘YEAR OF RETURN, GHANA 2019’ campaign which commemorated the 400 years of the first enslaved Africans arriving in Virginia, USA, spearheaded by the President of the Republic of Ghana, His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo.
The Minister of Tourism, Hon. Barbara Oteng-Gyasi while inaugurating the committee indicated the trust the Ministry had in the team. The Project Coordinator and CEO of Ghana Tourism Authority, Mr. Akwasi Agyeman, recounted the successes of the “Year of Return” and indicated that COVID-19 has provided a new challenge to the implementation of the project but the Authority is poised to work with other stakeholders to ensure its success.
The project is based on seven pillars namely, Experience Ghana, Invest in Ghana, Brand Ghana, Celebrate Ghana, Pathway to Ghana, Give Back to Ghana and Improve Tourism and Heritage Assets. These pillars constitute the agenda towards the ‘Beyond the Return’ project.
Dentaa has recently been in the news for receiving an Outstanding Woman in Leadership award. Her works with GUBA has received a lot of media and global attention.
