The President of Ghana recently announced that final year students are to return back to school in preparation towards their upcoming graduation. Here are a few tips to help them get back into classroom mode as they get ready to aim for academic excellence.
Get a planner
It helps to stay organised throughout your school year. As soon as you get your syllabus, make sure to enter all assignments, examination dates, projects, and the likes in your planner. This would keep you up to date.
Before each class, take 5 mins or less of your time to preview your lecture notes for the day or you can also decide to do this exercise in the night before you go to bed. You do not have to read the whole slides or notes in detail. Rather, just skim through it quickly so that the next day, you arrive in class better prepared to understand any information being taught in class.
We are all guilty of this. If possible, get all your assignments for the weekend done early in order not to have to do it on the morning of that particular subject period. Procrastination keeps you at the bottom and can affect your grades. Avoid it.
Believe in you
School is hard but not impossible. You have all it takes to succeed so don’t underestimate tour inward abilities to excel at your school work whether you are in high school or in college. Spread your intellectual capabilities wide so that you can graduate with flying colors.
