Judith Monye shares her KPMG story, lessons for graduates

Judith Monye’s story is one of resilience and taking chances. The SeniorTax Associate at KPMG Nigeria has a story that will inspire anyone’s journey to the top executive position in their organizations.

Her story started in 2016 when she received a congratulatory e-mail from KPMG GT Recruitment.  KPMG is an organization which provides audit, tax and advisory services. They work closely with clients to help mitigate risks and grasp opportunities.

As a young confused passing out corper from the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), with all her family and friends in Port-Harcourt and Asaba, Judith launched into moving to Lagos to venture into her own uncharted waters.

Today, the confused corper has garnered and is still garnering enough knowledge on various subject matters.  The less friendly corper now has more than enough colleagues turned friends and family.

What made the difference between the confused corper and the Senior Associate? Getting a job with KPMG did.

For Judith, KPMG provided an enabling environment that fosters continuous learning and development, and also allowed her to build a professional network. According to her, it has given her the required platform to surpass expectations while guiding her through the professional process.

She revealed that her KPMG story is a constant reminder to take responsibility for tasks handed over to her, and to put the development of others as a priority to build and stretch her capacity.

Her KPMG story is still ongoing and it is teaches us to use our experience as a leverage to push harder everyday.
